Ok, if that isn't a good hook, then I don't know what is. Open Source software is often equated to Linux and geeks in general. Lately, however, open source has become quite popular and much more mainstream. Many folks have no idea that they may already use FOSS (free and open source software) in the form of some popular programs such as Firefox, Thunderbird, Audacity, and others. Take Firefox for example...huge user base...excellent software. So, more and more open source software is being recognized as viable for common everyday use. Given that, I figured I'd share an awesome web site for snagging some of that FOSS goodness. Opensourcewindows.com is exactly what the name implies...a site with some of the most popular and useful open source titles for installing on your Windows computer. I use MANY of the titles on their site such as OpenOffice, Audacity, Firefox, VLC, and GIMP...just to name a few.
